About us

A few years ago, our founders went into Stockholm city for a baby moon before giving birth to their second child. They went to stay at one of the high-end hotels in Stockholm, eager to get some alone time before baby no 2.

They checked into their room and started getting settled. Viktoria, who is very aware of bed bugs, did not perform her regular scan this time as everything felt safe. They were in a suite in one of the best hotels in Stockholm – how could it not be safe?

What should have been a lovely evening got an abrupt stop. Viktoria put her robe on to go down to the spa when she felt something crawling on her shoulder, being very aware of bed bugs her instinct was to capture the crawler in a glass and put it on the countertop. When she looked closer there were no doubts, it was a bed bug that had been crawling on her robe.

In seconds everything changed, the slow-paced cozy vibe was gone and was replaced by panic. The hotel’s reception came up to their room to confirm their find, and they left the hotel instantly in nothing but their robes – leaving all luggage and belongings behind.

The reaction may sound rushed if you have not been in contact with bed bugs before. But, if you knew how psychologically challenging the sanitation process of bed bugs is, I do not think you would feel the same.

Short about bed bug sanitation:

  • The sanitation process takes everything from a few weeks to months and can be very costly.
  • During the sanitation process, there is not much you can do, but lie as bait for the bed bugs to come out at night.
  • Which means you have to sleep in a bed full of bed bugs, not only yourself but also your kids, while waking up every night for several weeks with the feeling that something is crawling and feeding on you and your children.

Once home, they took of their robes outside and threw them in the trash bin. And then ran into their house, naked, to make sure no bed bugs would follow them home.

With this incident the seed that has become Dgree was created. Knowing the panic and psychological terror bed bugs cause – how could we help others avoid that pain?

And so, the development started, and after a long period of product development and heavy testing the result is now here.
